This was a quick one week project with the goal of designing an ‘experience’.
The experience someone has while interacting with a piece of design is a crucial consideration I take into account for every design project I complete. The order of the pages, the size, binding type, paper weight/colour/texture/opacity, the pacing, and the anticipated next page; all of these aspects affect the overall experience of the design.
This book follows the opening of a note never sent. As you flip through the pages the note opens more and more until it is finally revealed, only to be discarded. The interaction of flipping through the book advances the narrative, the black and white tones add to the underlying somber theme, and the handwritten note combined with the hand bound book show the care that went into crafting this confession despite it never being sent.
